Public Meetings

A public forum before the Eugene Planning Commission, on April 22, 2008, will give residents and interested individuals an opportunity to speak directly to the Planning Commission on the conservation proposal developed by the community task team,
this past fall. The Planning Commission will make a recommendation to the City Council following this public forum, on whether to forward the proposal to the Council as drafted or whether to modify the proposal. See below for more information on the task group’s proposal.

2007 SRHS COMMUNITY MEETINGS Presentation from March 2007 Community Meetings In the March and April 2007, approximately 100 citizens attended a series of six community meetings held by the City to hear citizens' views on conservation of additional habitat in the SRHS area.

The presentation provides a brief overview of the South Ridgeline Habitat Study, and introduces some of the key decisions that will need to be made, and examples of the trade-offs that will have to be weighed in making those decisions.

The Eugene Planning Commission reviewed and discussed the results from the meetings on May 7, 2007 and gave staff direction to move forward with forming a citizen task group to review the citizen input and work with staff to develop recommendations consistent with the staff recommendation. View the Planning Commission minutes, May 7, 2007.
